Understanding ABA Therapy
ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) therapy is a supportive, evidence-based approach that helps children with autism learn new skills and reduce behaviors that may interfere with daily life.
Every child with autism is unique, but some common signs include:
- Difficulty with communication (verbal or nonverbal).
- Limited eye contact or facial expressions.
- Challenges with social interaction, such as playing with others or understanding social cues.
- Repetitive behaviors, like hand-flapping, rocking, or spinning objects.
- Intense interests in specific topics or activities.
- Strong need for routines and difficulty with changes.
- Delayed speech or language development.
- Sensory sensitivities, such as being overwhelmed by sounds, lights, or certain textures.
- Trouble with transitions or managing emotions.
- Difficulty following instructions or staying focused.
